DNS probe finished no internet or DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error is the very common error occurs to most people because of the issue in the DNS. DNS is the Domain name system which is used to translate your IP address to Domain name. Even if your internet connection is working fine, you won’t be able to load the browser.

Why DNS probe finished no internet or DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error occurs
This occurs because of the misconfiguration of the DNS. As I have mentioned, DNS is used for converting IP address to human readable names. For example, the IP address of Google is 126.96.36.199 (try search this in your browser) but it is difficult to search every website using IP address. Thanks to DNS which make it easier by converting the IP into a name which known as DNS name resolution.
Here are the different ways to solve DNS probe finished no internet
1. First method is to release and renew DNS
This might have occurred because of client-side error in the DNS. So, flushing the cache will help to reset the DNS.
You need to press your Windows icon. After that type cmd in your search bar or press ctrl+ R and then type cmd, command prompt will appear. Click command prompt from the search result.
In the command prompt, type the following commands
You can also additionally flush the DNS using the below given commands,
> netsh int ip set dns
> netsh winsock reset
Now, restart your computer and try loading your page. If this didn’t work for you try the next method.
2. The next method is to restart DNS client
For restarting dns client, you need to go to the command prompt and type services or click ctrl+r and type services.msc.
A dialog box appears, at right side scroll down until you see DNS client. Right click and press restart button.
If the button option is in grey, type the following command.
> net stop dnscache
> net start dnscache
Try, loading your browser after you have made the changes.
3. Next method is to change DNS address to Google’s DNS address
Press the windows icon and search for the control panel. Open the control panel and then press Network and Internet option.
Then press Network and Sharing Center, at the left side click the change adapted settings option. You can see the Internet connection list that you have used in your system. Right click your current internet network and press properties.
In the networking tab, click the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then press properties. A dialog box open up, change the radio button to Use the following Google DNS server address. Then type the following DNS server address.
> Preferred DNS server : 188.8.131.52
> Alternate DNS server : 184.108.40.206
Then click OK. Then try to load the browser.
4. Other method is to disable your VPN or antivirus
If you use any anti-virus or VPN may sometimes cause these kinds of error because of some conflict. Try disabling the antivirus or VPN that you are using and try to browse the internet.
This might be the issue sometimes.
5. Reset the flags in your browser
There are chances that there is a problem with your browser. The browser might have conflicted with your DNS and prevent the browser from loading the webpage.
Go to your browser and type chrome://flags. You can see an option reset all to default, click the option. If the browser was your problem doing this might work.
